Mark Beachell & Sarah Pennington

My summer in the alps, in search of the haunts of Frankenstein. Mark

Over The summer I traced events from astronomical and meteorological phenomena which contributed to the night in 1816 in which Mary Shelly experienced a waking dream in which she conceived of the plot of Frankenstein. The concept of moon light falling through her window in the villa Diodati in Geneva is the form in which my work will be literally framed

Detail of "Flower Power" by Sarah Pennington:
found objects from Isle of Lewis, inc. parrafin lamp, gas lamp decoration, tractor headlamp, peat.

“What is to give light must endure burning.”

Viktor Frankl (1905-97)

The starting point for my 12x12x12 work is light & shadows...
